Food photography tips for bloggers.

Food PR and food photography have recently gained popularity

Use Natural lights.

Natural light is a part of nature, Its free, its everywhere, its constant and it has many advantages also. It's always around even if it's a cloudy afternoon natural light is always readily available. There is no equipment you have to buy  or set up in order to do outdoor photo shoot. Artificial light in the other hand, takes time to set up an can cost the photographer a lot of money should a bulb break or burn out. It allows the photographer to have fun with location without the movie equipment everywhere. When you work in a studio you have to spend time adjusting the light to match the pose of your subject, Natural light doesn't have to adjusted so it's far better than artificial light.

Use a Tripod.

A tripod is a indispensable tool for every food photographer. It's important to choose the one that best fits in your needs. Using a Tripod allows to keep your ISO low and use slow shutter speed. Consistecncy and precision are crucial in food photograph. A good trick is to mark the placement of your tripod on the ground with electrician's tape. That way you can always get the shot from the same position. It's quite difficult to doing this without the tripod.

Use Manual  Focus.

Autofocus isn't very good at picking up focus in low light conditions. If you are planning on shooting in low light ,you will probably want to opt for manual focus. Another thing is that Autofocus is most useful when you are shooting images with high contrast. If you are shooting something that has a lower level of contrast then auotofocus is less likely to produce a sharp image.
